Walt Disney World – Lotusphere day 5, Disney-MGM Studios, Epcot
Day 5 was just like the previous, up early for my room monitor duties, but then there were some big sessions for the last day of Lotusphere, which I was able to attend – very interesting stuff. The closing general session in the afternoon started with a short overview of the week’s events, with a special guest appearance of Pluto, after John Cleese pointed out on Monday that “Lotusphere” was an anagram of “Here’s Pluto”. The rest of the session was taken up with comedian Steve Wright, who proceeded to entertain us with about 45 minutes of one-liners, all delivered dead-pan. Some of it was quite funny.
Leanne spent most of the day at Disney-MGM Studios, before coming back to meet me at our room after the close of Lotusphere, so we could head over to Epcot together. We spent the evening at Epcot, riding Test Track (I think we did it 6 or 7 times all up), and Mission: Space (which we did twice), and we had dinner too. We took advantage of the “Extra Magic Hours” where, as guests of one of the Disney Resorts, we had the opportunity to get a wrist band which allowed us to stay in the park past closing time – so we were able to enjoy the rides without the crowds up until midnight, which was great.
