My father has just started his own blog – Trevor’s Twitchings of Australian Birds. He is an avid ornithologist (birdwatcher), and uses the term “Twitching” – which originates from the UK and also means birdwatching. Wikipedia has some information on Twitching
My sister has been blogging for several months now, since she has been on a teacher exchange in the UK – and more recently touring through Europe during their summer break from school. Her blog is called Rose’s Prose, and it’s been interesting following her travels through Europe – they have been using internet cafes and other computer services to do research on where they intend to travel to next, and at the same time Rose has taken the opportunity to update her blog occasionally. Great to hear about things while they are still fresh in her mind.
Now all I have to do is get my mum blogging about her Australian Native Plants, and we have an entire family of bloggers.
I have mentioned before that my parents complain when I don’t update my blog – since they don’t know what I’ve been up to. If I do keep it up to date, there is a side effect that when I do speak to them on the phone, I can’t tell them anything really exciting about what I’ve been doing – since they’ve already read about it on my blog. Can’t win either way.
