Just a quick update – we’re now in Buenos Aires – arrived around lunchtime. Unfortunately the hostel here does not have WiFi, so I’m still not able to do as much as I’d like. There’s quite a few people here and there are only three computers between everyone, so I’m not able to spend much time using them.
I’ll write some more offline and upload it next time I’m on.

Have fun! Sounds like a great trip.
I was in Buenos Aires in 1994 for my first overseas trip and it was a fantastic experience, interested in how the place is now and if everthing has recovered from their economic shocks a few years ago.
I also have a pen friend from there I haven’t written to in about a decade so I will have to look him up and catch up.
