Had a bit of a sleep in this morning after a relatively early nights sleep last night – what are holidays for after all ?
Eventually, got up, had a shower, some breakfast, and got ready to go out.
Headed around the block to catch the Red CAT (Central Area Transit) bus. Caught that all the way around the loop and back again – just to see the sights. Got off at the railway station which happens to be across the road from the visitors center, where we picked up some brochures and made some enquiries about some trips we are planing.
Had an early lunch, then walked over to the Art Gallery and then on to the Museum. Some interesting stuff at those places. I especially liked the artwork produced by various year 12 students – very interesting to see what goes on in the minds of todays youth (am I really getting that old ?) – and was nice to see their description of what they were trying to achieve so we could make some kind of judgement as to how well they did.
After a couple of hours, jumped onto the Blue CAT bus and did the whole loop – again, just to see the sights, before swapping over to a Red CAT bus to take us home (but not before seeing the rest of the Red loop – out past the WACA and back).
Sat around reading for a while – Leanne did some crosswords and other stuff from a puzzlebook she bought. Had an early dinner, then walked into town to catch a movie – Shrek 2 is on now.
There was a bit of confusion at the Hoyts cinema in town, with the opening of Spiderman 2 on, they had blocked the main entrance, and when going in the side door as instructed, a staffmember directed us straight upstairs for Shrek 2. As it turned out, there was actually a private screening of Shrek 2 on instead of their normal show – something we didn’t realise given that we were ushered upstairs before we had a chance to see the show schedule at the main box office. What a complete waste of time. I was really disappointed actually – was looking forward to seeing Shrek, and we had walked into town especially to see it.
We did a quick check of the other cinemas in town to see what else was on, but there was nothing else of interest, so we headed back to the hotel. At least it was a fairly pleasant night for a walk !
Insight says
Have fun in Perth.
I was there is January for my third visit. The Freemantle jail tour is interesting when done at night.
Also I had a great time snorkelling at Rottnest, just make sure you put enough suntan cream on your back!
Sounds like the train trip was good fun! A chance to prospect some +ve cashflow property in those 2 person towns as well :)
