As part of the process of getting a visa for our daughter to enter Australia, she needs to have medical checks for things such as TB or HIV.
While we aren’t expecting there to be any problems – there is always a chance that something previously missed will turn up and she will be denied a visa, which means that we effectively cannot proceed with the adoption.
So we were quite relieved today to find out that she has passed her medical clearance and a visa should be issued – assuming there is no problems with the paperwork once we are in Colombia.
Things are progressing – although always too slowly for us.
Leanne is adamant that she wants to be in Colombia and with our daughter before Easter. We don’t want to be sitting around at home over Easter, waiting to travel – we want to be with her!
We just have to wait for our other updated documents (police checks, etc) to be legalised and sent over before the orphanage will approve our travel – there’s nothing more we can do now, we just have to wait.
