Got some last bits of shopping for our trip done today – some locks for our packs, some more briefs and socks and hair conditioner for Leanne, some duct tape for repairs, another couple of 2500mAh batteries, and some vitamins.
One thing I haven’t had a chance to get yet is some USD currency – will carry that with us for emergencies (much easier to change USD than AUD … especially in regional areas). None of the currency conversion places operate after 4pm – might have to go back tomorrow.
I’ve started confirming some of our hostels – making sure they don’t sell our room to someone else! Managed to arrange an airport pickup in Buenos Aires for next week, although on Saturday when we arrive in Santiago (tired and sore after the long flight!), we’ll be on our own to find the hostel. That’s when the adventure really starts! At least I have clear directions, and the hostel should be easy to find – just one block away from the nearest Metro station.
Just got a couple more loads of washing to get done tomorrow so we can finish packing.
