Had to migrate off of my laptop – it has developed a problem with the screen which makes it difficult to use.
I’ve installed the most important software I use on my desktop games machine (which I don’t normally use because it is loud and generates a lot of heat).
I’m going to have to give my laptop back to IBM at some point soon anyway – so I’m not that fussed about having it unusable … although I would have preferred to have my new laptop available first so I could move directly to that machine rather than having to install so much software on my desktop machine first.

Haha – not perfect, but they are very good.
It’s a work issued T43 and the problem isn’t so much with the screen – that works fine … it just puts itself into power-save mode (screen turns off) at random intervals. Not sure whether it’s a software/firmware/hardware problem.
Post-sales support is generally excellent from reports I’ve heard and from my own experience (even as an employee, we use the same post-sales support that customers use – and it works well).

Far out I thought IBM were perfect?
What model is it? My R50e is still ticking along faithfully despite the frequent flyer miles it has racked up.
