Been quite a while since my last post. Lots of stuff happening – been really busy.
Final few months of 2006 I was working very hard on a major site redesign and upgrade for InvestEd – which went live around new years.
Since then I’ve been working pretty much full time on getting my books up to date ready to submit my 2005/06 tax returns … my bookkeeping has been one of the many things ignored over the last year or so while I’m busily working on various projects – to the point where I was about 15 months behind in my data entry. What’s worse is that I had quite a few transactions in 2006, including many that resulted in Capital Gains (and losses) which all needed to be calculated for the tax man too – can get quite complex.
Of course, it wasn’t just my tax to be done, I had to start with the InvestEd tax returns, followed by my personal company tax returns, and then our family trust tax returns, before finally being able to do both of our individual returns!
Anyway – that’s now mostly under control, waiting on feedback from the accountant to see whether there is anything else he needs.
So this last week, I’ve been starting to catch up with things that have been put on hold for quite some time – including some website software upgrades, and catching up on old emails sitting in my inbox.
I decided to try a different approach to my blog design – so it has a completely new theme … hope you like it. There’s still a few tweaks to do, but it’s mostly done now. Let me know if anything doesn’t work.
I’m going to try and make a real effort to get back into regular blogging – hopefully I can make the time for it as part of my normal routine.
