Friday afternoon when we got to Canberra, we decided to go check out Floriade, the flower festival.
I’m not much one for flowers for the sake of flowers (although I do appreciate them since my mother is an avid horticulturist !), but I was quite impressed with the displays they had set up for Floriade.
Literally millions of flowers, all painstakingly planted and arranged into patterns and shapes – with different colours and type of flowers all chosen to create particular effects. And just when you think you’ve seen it all, you walk around a bend and find another couple of long garden beds with even more flowers !
I know my mum would love this – next time they come over to visit us in Sydney I’ll tell them to come in spring and stop off in Canberra on the way (my parents currently live in Murray Bridge, about 45 mins out of Adelaide).
I took lots of photos – I will upload some of the best to my gallery.
