I know it’s a bit late (I usually post just before a trip), but I thought I’d let you all know what I’ve been doing this last week… I flew up to Darwin on Monday evening (got in after midnight) to help build a Proof of Concept system for a customer up there. We were trying to show them how our Portal software could help their business processes, streamline their content creation, content management, application integration, and all the other good things that Portal can do.
It was a very intense week – we gave ourselves 3.5 days to get the whole thing done and demonstrated, and there were some very late nights as we overcame some technical issues (integration issues as usual – integration with third party systems is never easy).
But we got it finished and the demonstration went well, so that is quite satisfying.
I’m glad I took the time on my last trip to do some sightseeing and enjoy the area, because this time I didn’t get to do anything – no times for leisurely walks along the esplanade, no time for wandering down to the Mindil Markets and watching the sunset, no time for driving around, not even time for a Cold Rock icecream :(
I got the 1:15pm flight back home to Sydney (got in just after 6pm) and now I’ve got to spend the weekend preparing for next week. *sigh*
Work is rather intense at the moment – I really wish they would stagger product releases a little more – there’s simply too much stuff happening all at once at the moment. It’s very exciting, but a lot of hard work to keep up with it all.
