My wife bought me Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1 on DVD for my birthday a couple of month back.
We watched it one disk at a time (each disk has four episodes), and it’s great to get that kind of continuity to the story, as the events of previous episodes are still fresh in your mind.
We recently bought Season 2, parts I & II as well, and finally finished them yesterday.
This has been particularly interesting, given that there are several episodes I’ve simply never seen, and a few more that I only vaguely remember. Again, the continuity has been great going through them so quickly.
I was supposed to go and buy Season 3, parts I & II today, but ran out of time. Hopefully the stores are open tomorrow despite it being a public holiday, so I will go and buy it so we can continue our watching together.
Some of the special features on the disks – the audio commentaries, cast interviews, making of featurettes and such are fascinating (although my wife hates them).
It’s a nice bit of escapism in this overly busy world we live in !
