Las Vegas, Software University Day 4
Thursday was yet another day of technical sessions, from 8:30am until 5:45pm at the Venetian.
At the end of the day, I rushed back to our room at NYNY so we could get changed and then walk over to the Luxor (via Excalibur) to see our second Vegas show – Blue Man Group, which is a stunning (and hilarious) show performed mainly by three bald men painted in blue. You may have seen some of these guys in adverts for Intel.
Their website says this:
Blue Man Group is best known for its award-winning theatrical productions which critics have described as “ground-breaking,” “hilarious,” “visually stunning” and “musically powerful.” These performances feature three enigmatic bald and blue characters who take the audience through a multi-sensory experience that combines theatre, percussive music, art, science and vaudeville into a form of entertainment that is like nothing else
It was a fantastic show, and I now have a desire to go see their other shows in New York, Chicago, Boston and Berlin (Germany). We both thoroughly enjoyed the show.
After the show, we stopped in at Excalibur for a bite to eat, and then walked over to the MGM Grand and caught the monorail down to Ballys, walking through to Paris, where we went up their one-half scale replica of the Eiffel Tower. The Las Vegas strip at night from 460 feet high is quite spectacular, and being just across the road from the Bellagio, we got a great view of the fountain show too. I’ll upload some photos to the gallery when I get a chance.
Earlier in the day, Leanne had spent her time exploring Siegfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage, and the Fashion Mall shops.
