Went to the dentist today … first time in nearly 7 years (*eeek*)
Don’t ask why … it’s a long story.
Was pleased to hear the verdict – no cavities that he could find and everything seems to be in good order. Did some xrays of my teeth – showed quite clearly the wisdom teeth not being where they really should … but the dentist’s opinion was that they are unlikely to cause any problems (they have been like this since the last time I visited a dentist and had xrays – and they have not caused me any problems in all that time). The best part was that the dentist didn’t consider it worth the trouble of doing anything about the wisdom teeth … something that has been concerning me for a few years now – really didn’t want to have to get them extracted.
Unfortunately my wife wasn’t quite so fortunate – her teeth are very good too, probably better than mine infact (certainly a lot straighter than mine !) – except for her upper wisdom teeth, which have come through a bit. Her lower wisdom teeth haven’t pushed through, and are not likely to do so, and this can cause problems. What’s more, because of a number of factors, her upper wisdom teeth have developed some cavities (is known to happen in situations like this apparently) – so she has been advised to have them removed as soon as possible. Of course, being a nurse, she makes a terrible patient !
We’ll look at getting something done for her after we get back from our upcoming holidays.
