- Open the book to page 23.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
My entry:
“You know that Descartes (like Elvis) is dead.”
From “The Matrix and Philosophy: Welcome to the Desert of the Real”, that chapter written by Gerald J. Erion and Barry Smith, the book edited by William Irwin. Sitting beneath that book was a copy of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy: Fear and Trembling in Sunnydale”, but the fifth sentence was rather boring, so I stuck with the original book I picked up.
