After more frustration in the last couple of days with Telstra’s appalling email problems and web site outages, I jumped onto the IBM intranet to check out which ADSL provider we were allowed to use.
I read the policy document much more clearly this time and noticed that the policy has changed !! No longer are we encouraged to use Telstra because of discounted services we receive – there is no longer a preferred provider for broadband services. All they specify in our policy is a maximum reimbursement amount, and it is up to us to pay connection fees and such if we move providers.
This has made me extremely happy. I’ve been wanting to move to Internode for ages now, but with work paying for my ADSL and forcing me onto Telstra, I had little choice but to put up with the bad Telstra service.
So, I’m going all out – moving to Internode (they have a free churn process in place at the moment too – so I shouldn’t have to pay the connection fee), and I’m upgrading to a 1500k plan – it costs more than what work will reimburse, but I’ll just pay the balance myself, it’s worth it !
*Sim’ dances a happy jig
Can I stop salivating now ?
