While teaching today at the IBM office I picked up a developerWorks brochure on a Web Services conference they have produced with a group called “Geek Cruises”. This conference is called Web Services @ sea – and will be run from May 23-31 2004 departing from New York City on a Carnival Cruise Lines superliner, and sailing through Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands.
Now I’m thinking, “why aren’t we running this class on a cruise ship, floating through the Whitsundays or South Pacific islands ?”
I’m sure everyone would learn so much more in such a relaxing environment.
One thing I noticed on the FAQs page for Geekcruises – the ship does have wireless network connections, so if you take your laptop with you should still have internet connectivity while on board. It just gets better and better !
